High-Density GPU Blade Solution
The Colfax CX7200-BG4 is an unprecedented high-density GPU blade solution, which supports two NVIDIA Tesla M2050/M2070 GPU cards with non-blocking native Gen2 PCI-Express x16 connections per node. Power, cooling and networking devices are aggregated in the rear of the chassis which optimizes the required amount of space.
CX7200-BG4 enables up to 120 of the highest performing Fermi GPUs plus 120 of the latest IntelŽ XeonŽ 5600 series processors to be deployed in a standard 42U rack. Equipped with dual IOH chips and dual 40Gb/s QDR IB HCA per blade, this GPU blade solution delivers maximum performance with the best CPU to GPU balance and optimized I/O.

Space Optimization
Housed within a 19" industry-standard rack, CX7200-BG4 servers reduce server footprint in the data center. Power, cooling and networking devices are aggregated in the rear of the chassis which optimizes the required amount of space.
Cable Reduction
The CX7200-BG4 server chassis enclosure greatly simplifies the cabling process by aggregating cabling of ten servers at once. Up to 90% of network, power, and KVM cabling required for ten 1U servers are reduced by moving to blade servers in a single chassis. These cabling reductions continue across networking, SAN connectivity, and management controllers.
Reducing the number of cables speeds up the deployment of servers and helps reduce troubleshooting issues by presenting fewer physical connections to the servers.

Gigabit Ethernet Modules
Switches
The 1/10-Gigabit Ethernet layer 2/3 Switch module (part ID SBM-GEM-X2C+) offers advanced switching features and connection to 10-Gigabit Ethernet networks. Internally it uses the same 1-Gb/s downlink ports as the SBM-GEM-001 for connection to the CX7200-BG4 LAN interfaces. Externally it provides up to three 10-Gb/s uplink connections (two with a CX4 connector which are stackable and one SFP+) and two 1Gb/s uplink connections (RJ45). It also has two internal Ethernet paths to the CMM(s) to allow configuration, management, and control of the switch and its ports through a browser-based management interface. In addition to the Web-based GUI, it offers a CLI for flexibility in management and control of single or multiple switch networks. SBM-GEM-X2C+ supports up to 20 Blades.

Gigabit Pass-Through
The TwinBlade 1-Gigabit Ethernet Pass-through Module (part ID SBM-GEP-T20) is a non-configurable pass- through module that includes twenty 1-Gb/s external uplink (RJ45) ports and twenty internal 1-Gb/s downlink ports for the TwinBlade's LAN interfaces. This module also has an internal I2C path to the CMM for viewing module temperature and voltage (but not for configuration since all connections are fixed).

InfiniBand Switch Module
The InfiniBand Switch Modules are switch-based, point-to-point bi-directional serial link systems. They provide high-speed
interconnectivity among the blade modules and to external InfiiniBand peripherals and are especially useful in supporting clustered High-Performance-Computing. The SBM-IBS-Q3616 InfiniBand Switch Module supports up to 20 internal and up to 16 external 4X QDR connections (40 Gbps). The SBM-IBS-Q3616M InfiniBand Switch Module adds the capability for installation of a BMB-CMM-002 mini-CMM, thus allowing dual/redundant links from each Blade (requires AOM-IBH-QDD) to redundant switches. The SBM-IBS-Q3618 InfiniBand Switch Module supports up to 18 internal and up to 18 external 4X QDR connections (40 Gbps). Like the SBM-IBS-Q3616M, the SBM-Q3618M InfiniBand Switch Module adds the capability for installation of a BMB-CMM-002 mini-CMM, thus allowing dual/redundant links from each Blade (requires AOM-IBH-QDD) to redundant switches.

Mezzanine HCA Cards
For any blade to access the InfiniBand module, it must have an InfiniBand mezzanine HCA card installed on its mainboard. AOC-IBH-XQS and AOC-IBH-XQD mezzanine cards provide this connectivity at the QDR (40Gbps) rate when used with the QDR InfiniBand switch. The AOC-XEH-iN2 is also available for 10Gbps connectivity.

The CX7200-BG4 chassis management module (CMM) provides total remote control of individual server blades, power supplies, cooling fans, and networking switches remotely. System administrators enjoy the management ease and reassurance of continuous onboard instrumentation monitoring (temperature sensors, power status, voltages and fan speed). Remote power control capabilities to reboot and/or reset the server are available as well as remote access to the BIOS configuration and operating system console information vial SOL (Serial over LAN) or embedded KVM capabilities. Because the controller is a separate processor, all monitoring and control functions operate flawlessly regardless of CPU operation or system power-on status.
