Colfax to Support New NVIDIA Tesla K40 GPU Accelerators in ProEdge Workstations and ServEdge Servers

Powerful Parallel Computing Systems Optimized for Large Scale Scientific Workloads and Big Data Analytics

DENVER, CO. — SC13 - November 18, 2013 - Colfax International, a leader in High Performance Computing (HPC) and Enterprise IT solutions, today announced that it will offer the NVIDIA® Tesla® K40 GPU accelerator in its line-up of ProEdge workstations, ServEdge servers and ClusterEdge clusters. The new high performance Colfax GPU-based solutions have been optimized to deliver unprecedented acceleration and more efficient compute performance for big data applications in fields including seismic processing; computational biology and chemistry; weather and climate modeling; image, video and signal processing; computational finance, computational physics; CAE and CFD; and data analytics.

The NVIDIA Tesla K40 GPU accelerator is the first and highest-performance accelerator optimized for big data analytics and large-scale scientific workloads. It delivers double the memory and up to 40 percent higher performance than its predecessor, and 10 times higher performance than today’s fastest CPU. It features intelligent NVIDIA GPU Boost technology, which converts power headroom into a user-controlled performance boost, enabling users to unlock the untapped performance of a broad range of applications.

Colfax ServEdge Servers for Diverse Needs
Integrating the power of Tesla K40 GPU accelerators, which provide up to 1.43 Tflops of peak double-precision performance and 12GB of ultra-fast GDDR5 memory, the Colfax ServEdge many-core HPC servers come in a variety of configurations to address diverse workload, performance, and efficiency requirements.

To address the most intensive HPC demands, the CXT9000 and CXT9100 offer maximized GPU density and power efficiency, supporting up to 8 Tesla GPU accelerators in a single 4U system.

The comprehensive portfolio of ServEdge servers also includes high density 1U and 2U servers with up to 4 Tesla GPU accelerators.

ProEdge Workstations
Available with up to 4 NVIDIA Tesla GPU accelerators, the Colfax ProEdge series of workstations are a perfect fit for engineers and scientific researchers. A combination of massive computational horsepower in a desktop form factor and out-of-box performance means they can focus on science to drive innovation and accelerate time to results.
