"I wish to express my delight with the quality and performance of Colfax dual Xeon workstation. It is a multi-purpose machine for me. I use it for 2d & 3d animation, editing video, producing DVDs and standard desktop applications.
The performance of this Colfax workstation is truly outstanding and unsurpassed. I am achieving amazing results running a variety of demanding tasks, including complex After Effects or Premiere render with six other applications open at the same time!
When most computers are used in really hefty applications, such as rendering 3d animations, they seem to hit a wall where performance drops or where only the rendering system can run, and everything else sort of freezes. I’ve used many systems before that just choked when given a lot of work or they became unstable and crashed if I tried to do anything other than the one heavy task.
With this system the wall seems to be way out there. It doesn’t seem to reach that limit. It just keeps on working at a consistent rate. I’m able to optimally utilize the resources, while getting other tasks done.
This is the most reliable machine I’ve ever had. I’ve been running it for months without any hint of a problem. The system has been stable and compatible with every kind of hardware or software I’ve used. And some of the video and animation packages can really tax a system’s resources and test its compatibility.
Finally, I have to say that I never knew how long I was waiting for things to happen. With the Colfax workstation, activities that I thought took a couple of seconds are suddenly instantaneous.
