Dual Channel SSDs


A dual channel (dual port) SSD has a capability to be connected to two hosts at a time. It can be connected directly to a host CPU or via PCIe switch topology. This architecture is used to address critical redundancy and failover, protecting against any single path failure.

Instead of PCIe Gen3 x 4, the SSD I/O will now be split into two channels of 2 x PCIe Gen3 x2
