    Western Digital’s OpenFlex Data24 4100 series is a next-generation NVMe-oF storage platform that delivers near-local NVMe performance through a high-performance Ethernet fabric. Building on the foundation of previous Data24 platforms, the 4100 extends NVMe flash performance to shared storage environments while maintaining ultra-low latency and high throughput. Using Western Digital RapidFlex™ NVMe-oF controllers, the platform enables direct, high-bandwidth connectivity for multiple hosts without oversubscription.

    The OpenFlex Data24 4100 series incorporates Western Digital’s RapidFlex A2000 Fabric Bridge devices to provide 12 ports of 100GbE connectivity, supporting both RoCE (RDMA over Converged Ethernet) and TCP transports. This flexibility allows deployment in RDMA-optimized data centers or in environments where TCP is preferred for ease of integration.

    The platform delivers true PCIe Gen4 performance end-to-end, ensuring that the full capability of each NVMe SSD is exposed to the Ethernet fabric. The system supports PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSDs from Western Digital and qualified third-party vendors.
